House Parent 


Job Title: House Parent        

House Parent will provide care for Resident, in all phases of domestic life; including spiritual growth, leisure time activities, personal hygiene, basic life skills, and encouraging positive attitudes. Program accommodates up to six teenage girls.

Requirements for Hire:

  • Background Checks and Clearances (FBI, PA, Child abuse), Upon hire must pass Drug screening test, Mandated Reporter Certification, CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Medical clearance which includes a 50lb. lift test.
  • Must have a Valid PA Driver’s License which includes an acceptable driving record.
  • Flexible hours required. Must be available evenings and weekends.


  • Experience working with youth between the ages of 12-18 is required.
  • Applicant must be at least 30 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Communication skills
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and independently
  • A positive personality to interact with our youth residents and their families
  • Basic computer skills, be able to manage minimal paperwork, and be thorough with documentation.
  • Organizational skills and strive to create and maintain a disciplined and structured environment.
  • Minimum age to apply is 24.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Sharing devotions and praying with our residents
  •  Supervising and keeping girls in productive activities
  • Shopping and preparation for meals and teaching teaching girls to make meals
  • Supervising chores and maintaining a disciplined, organized, and structured environment.
  • Transporting girls in ministry vehicle to functions
  • Administering medications
  • Supervising all activities
  • Basic record keeping

Job Title: Counselor 

Position Purpose: To promote spiritual and emotional growth and healing through biblical Christian counseling in the context of accepted therapeutic techniques and biblical resources.

Requirements for Hire:

Please note the selection process is extensive and includes but not limited to:
Upon completion of our interview process you will need to complete the following:
• Complete Background Checks and Clearances (FBI, PA, Child abuse),
• Drug screening test,
• Mandated Reporter Certification,
• CPR and First Aid Certification


  • At a minimum, the candidate would possess a Bachelors degree in psychology, social work or counseling.
  • Master’s degree preferred or desired.
  • Experience and training in counseling or social services field and Biblically based Christian counseling.
  • Experience in a Christian counseling setting.
  • Commitment to HOHYP Statement of Faith and Covenant Statement.


Related Expertise: Experience in Christian counseling; or the application of Christian principles for the purpose of producing emotional healing and wholeness. Knowledge of but not limited to, substance abuse, physical and sexual abuse, sexual identity, self-harm, eating disorders, and other adolescent related disorders.

Personal Characteristics: Represent the Lord by demonstrating Godly attributes and behavior. Has the mature ability to make intelligent decisions during challenging situations. Patient, and have excellent communications skills.

 Skills and Qualifications:
A successful candidate will have the following minimum skills and qualifications needed for the job as a counselor…

  • Build relationships and trust with teens, families, and other clients
  • Recognize unhealthy behaviors and thinking
  • Achieve HOHYP counseling goals in keeping with the client’s ability and potential, provide appropriate resources to reach these goals
  • Relate and apply biblical truth and spiritual principles in all aspects of your daily walk
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate with team members
  • Teachable and submissive attitude and the ability to recognize when personal need for direction arise and seek input or guidance from appropriate individuals or team members when needed
  • Efficient, clear record keeping and records management
  • Integrates and interweaves therapeutic work with adolescents and parents to ensure consistency of approach to therapeutic, relational, and behavioral issues
  • Counsels each resident a minimum of twice weekly for at least l hour per session, parents/guardian minimum of 1 hour weekly. Before starting home visits see the resident and parents together a minimum of 4 times. After home visits begin see them together weekly then begin a tapper down process.
  • Teach a weekly group session with all residents, minimum of 1 hour when needed
  • Teach weekly parenting class minimum of 2 hours weekly when needed
  • Adheres to confidentiality ethics
  • Recognizes and utilizes prayer and the ministry of prayer as a highly valued therapeutic tool
  • Demonstrates submission to the sovereignty and wisdom of God
  • Ability to recognize and refer client to additional specialist when necessary
  • Works closely with team members to ensure consistency of resident’s care and approach techniques for mental health and spiritual well being
  • Supervise parents to ensure procedures are followed as detailed in the Residents Manual and Parents Manual


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial evaluations of client needs and develops customized treatment plan
  • Willingness to continue educating self and other staff on the latest practices
  • Follow through on any mandated reporting that is necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to empathize with clients
  • Ability to consider internal and external resources to develop a client treatment plan
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge
