Season of Giving

October 19, 2017 Leave a Comment

I lift up my eyes to the hills– where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

~Psalms 121:1-2

As Thanksgiving and Christmas season approaches, we are often asked by our generous community about what they can give to House of Hope. We have prepared and attached two lists of items needed for our Program for those who feel led to give. You can call our office to arrange a time to drop off any items collected.

If you’d like to come to bring items and have some fellowship with the girls, give us a call and we can arrange a time. If you’d like for us to come and speak to your organization, group, or church, we’d love to arrange that with you too! Giving our girls the opportunity to share their testimonies is a power reinforcement to them and others of what God does in the lives of those who come to Him for help and healing. Please contact Meg to arrange any visits at megan.fizer@houseofhopeyork.org or call the office at 717-235-3198.

We are blessed by your generosity as we continue to serve young women and their families and bring them hope and healing through the powerful Word of God.

Thank you and blessings,

~ The House of Hope Team

New Counseling Program Coming

August 22, 2017 Leave a Comment

The House of Hope York PA is working hard to provide additional outreach to our community through a new counseling program! Through our new program, we will be able to provide counseling to more young women, young men, people with addiction,  families, and those struggling with various emotional and spiritual issues

We have two rooms that have been donated to us to use for this new program but we need YOUR help to get this program off the ground! If you have any gently used lockable filing cabinets, or are willing to donate a computer, please contact us to arrange for your donation of any of these items.

Your prayers and support are appreciated as we continue to reach more people with the healing love of Jesus.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed”
–  LUKE 4:18

Congrats to Lyla!

August 17, 2017 Leave a Comment

We are happy to announce that one of our girls, Lyla, has made it to the Home Phase of our program!

After 14 months of tough inner work, Lyla was able to be reunited with her family as a changed young woman. Upon arrival, Lyla struggled with self-harm and a contentious relationship with her family, rooted in unforgiveness. Lyla and her family chose to commit to change, seek God, and let Him redeem their story. Praise God!

“This is an amazing program. I’m so glad to be in it. God truly had His hand on the situation the whole time with leading me here. This has been the hardest and best experience of my life. I’m bless to call ya’ll my family and sisters in Christ.
– Lyla

In the final phase of  House of Hope’s program, residents leave our residential facility and return to their family to complete the Home Phase. Now armed with a Family Mission Statement, a deeper faith in Christ, and a new sense of individual and familial identity, our girls are able to return home to continue strengthening their family bond. In the Home Phase, our girls continue individual and family counseling as they work to return to their new normal. As they transition to their outside support system, they attend youth group regularly, attend church with their families, and return to school.

While often difficult in the beginning, our girls and their families are equipped with months of parenting classes, individual and family counseling, scriptural knowledge,  and family structure guidance. We’re here to hold their hands and guide them as they complete the program TOGETHER!

We are so proud of Lyla and her family for committing to changing their story.

We are thankful for all of the support that we receive for this kind of transformation to happen.

July 27, 2017 Leave a Comment

A big THANK YOU is in order to everyone who has donated to our Summer Matching Challenge so far!

We have one month left to raise $9,505 dollars to receive the $15,000 pledged to House of Hope. PLEASE consider giving to us in this next month… every dollar you give is doubled and allows us to reach out to MORE young women and families in our community. We are in the midst of expanding our Non-Residential Counseling program to offer more hope to families and your donations allow us to reach more people in need.

If we receive $15,000 from our partners, House of Hope receives $30,000 to further this ministry! THANK YOU for your prayers and consideration. We are blessed to know so many amazing and generous people!
